A permanent is a color, that is applied directly onto your scalp to all of your hair. Semi or Demi colour (colour that fades out): both are all over colours that will change the reflect of your hair or darken it but not lighten it. Demi’s are a little stronger and so last a longer (6 to 8 weeks) and will cover up to 70% grey. Semi’s last about 6 weeks cover approx. 50% grey. Lites, streaks or Highlights: pieces or strands of colour (tint or bleach) generally lighter than your own hair.
There are several methods used to apply hair extensions and just as many types of hair( Straight, Wavy, Curly and Kinky Curly). The most popular system out now is the strand by strand method made by companies such as Great Lengths, SoCap. and Hair Dreams. They all use bonds made of special keratin polymers that are pre-attached to small groups of hair to form a strand. The hair that is used by these companies is all 100% human hair and comes from India or Europe. Since the hair is real it can be styled just like your own hair. Blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons and round brushes can all be safely used. The correct shampoos and styling product should be recommended by your stylist.
